【Unveiling】Common Components of Photovoltaic Systems, Helping You Easily Master Green Energy!

2025-02-27

With the rapid development of China's new energy industry, photovoltaic power generation has become the focus of attention for more and more households and enterprises. Let's take a look at the common components of photovoltaic systems together, and help you easily embark on the journey of green energy!

I. Photovoltaic Module - The Core of Solar Power Generation

Photovoltaic module, also known as solar panel, is the "heart" of the photovoltaic system. It is generally composed of solar cells, glass, EVA adhesive film, backsheet, aluminum frame, etc. The function of the photovoltaic module is to convert sunlight into electricity and provide green and clean energy for our daily life. Currently, the common types of new photovoltaic modules in the market include the following:

Heterojunction Cell (HJT): This type of cell combines the advantages of crystalline silicon cells and thin-film cells, featuring high conversion efficiency and relatively simple processing. It is a new type of highly efficient photovoltaic technology that has attracted much attention in recent years.

Perovskite Cell: As an emerging solar cell technology, it has a relatively high theoretical conversion efficiency. With the continuous maturation of the technology, its application in large-scale photovoltaic systems is also being explored.

TOPCon Cell: This is an upgraded technology based on traditional PERC cells. By adding ultra-thin tunnel oxide layer and heavily doped polycrystalline silicon layer, it effectively improves the conversion efficiency and has become one of the important technical routes in the current photovoltaic industry, widely used in various photovoltaic projects.

II. Inverter - The "Brain" of Photovoltaic System

The inverter is a key component of the photovoltaic system, mainly responsible for converting the direct current generated by the photovoltaic module into alternating current for household appliances to use. At the same time, the inverter also has the following functions:

MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) Function: Automatically adjust the working state of the photovoltaic module to ensure the maximum power output when the light changes.

Protection Function: It has protection functions such as overload, short circuit, overvoltage, and undervoltage to ensure the safe and stable operation of the system.

III. Support Structure - The "Skeleton" of Photovoltaic System

The support structure is the supporting structure of the photovoltaic module, undertaking important tasks such as fixing the photovoltaic module and adjusting the inclination angle. According to different installation environments, the support structure can be divided into the following types:

Roof Support Structure: Suitable for household and enterprise rooftop photovoltaic systems. Common roof support structures are mostly fixed angle supports, which can securely install the photovoltaic module on the roof.

Ground Support Structure: Suitable for large-scale photovoltaic power stations. Ground support structures include fixed angle supports and adjustable angle supports. Fixed angle supports are relatively simple to install and have a lower cost; adjustable angle supports can flexibly adjust the inclination angle of the photovoltaic module according to the terrain and the changes in the solar altitude angle in different seasons, thereby improving the power generation efficiency, but their cost is relatively higher.

IV. Distribution Box - The "Safety Guardian" of Photovoltaic System

The distribution box is an indispensable component of the photovoltaic system, mainly responsible for the distribution, control and protection of electricity. Its main functions are as follows:

Electric Power Distribution: Distributes the electricity generated by the photovoltaic system to various electrical appliances.

Control and Protection: Has protection functions such as overload, short circuit, leakage, etc., to ensure the safety of electricity use.

Through the above introduction, I hope everyone has a deeper understanding of the commonly used components of the photovoltaic system. Green energy, starting from understanding the photovoltaic module. Let's take action together and contribute to the cause of new energy!
